Bedtime Stories

Last night I read a most wondiferous story in bed! Well a book really... but anyways....

I have heard lots about this book, and only ever really seen it in French (a wee clue there!).. but then I saw it in Oxfam Book shop (one of my most favouritist places in Headingley), and had to get it (plus it's on the BBCs 100 books to read before you die..or something like that!)

Sooooo anyways.. the book I am speaking of is 'The Little Prince'... and boy did I find some gems inside! Really did make me smile! :)

So I am going to share some of the beauties that revealed themselves unto me in this masterpiece!!
  • "But he is not a man - he is a mushroom!"
  • 'On our earth we are obviously much too small to clean out our volcanoes. That is why they bring no end of trouble upon us.'
  • 'All humanity could be piled up on a small Pacific islet. The grown-ups, to be sure, will not believe you when you tell them that. They imagine that they fill a great deal of space. They fancy themselves as important as the baobabs.'
  • 'And no grown-up will ever understand that this is a matter of so much importance.'
All seems a bit random I know... but a must read :) will defo be a bedtime story for the little Paddy's in the future :) So read it :) in French or English... which ever you prefer... or are capable of if you're so very talented.. as I know many of you are!!!

  1. "The Little Prince" is one of my favorites! (Along with The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho) it's one of my standing gifts to people graduating. Glad to hear you enjoyed it.
