Manic Moments

I have inherited many wonderful traits from my mum :) I even look like her- which makes me very happy :) But I have also inherited, one slightly sometimes problematic trait- that of worrying. I am a MAJOR worrier- worry pretty much about everything- not all to the same degree, but I am very aware of most things... This can be advantageous, as I always know what's going on, and am rather organised. However, at other times it can be quite stressful and unwanted... and this results in rather saddening "manic moments"- well this is what I'm gonna call them from now on anyway... My worries usually just go round in my head, and have no real effect on my mood or behaviour. But when a manic moment slowly creeps over me, it changes my mood completely- I go from relaxed Bethy Bonss... to super quiet and huffy Elizabeth...

I had a manic moment today- and now (as is common with such moments) I look back at it feeling tremendously silly...

It all started with a text from my bro (he's awesome) saying that he wouldn't be able to take us to the Chapel for our Faith in God Activity... this is understandable as he isn't a taxi- and he had lots of very important uni work to do... However this pretty much triggered off my moment.... I started thinking how rubbish it is that we don't have a car, and how we'll have to get a taxi, and a taxi costs money...and all this money will add up etc... before you know it World War III blew up in my mind. I then realised that this would also mean that we wouldn't have a key to get into the Chapel- the equivalent to a nuclear explosion in my worries... and then my cold symptoms (thanks to Dave's germs :( ) started to feel like they were mounting up too... All of this was going on in my head, but Dave, the darling he is, noticed that something was up. Davey Baby is a pretty handy person to have around in such situations as he's the opposite to a worrier- he's more of a what happens happens sort of a person, and doesn't see the point of worrying when there's nothing to worry about. He solved the whole shabackle- and there really wasn't anything to be worried about- which often always is the outcome of manic moments.

In the end our Faith in God pancake evening went perfectly pancakely well!! Dave did all the cooking- he is the pancake master!! (We'll be having pancakes again tomorrow with the missionaries for dessert, so we really will be pros!!). And the kids were awesome!! Their personalities are amazing...you can already imagine the sort of people they are going to grow up to be, and they really set me straight! That and the beautiful face of Katie :) she's the happiest most beautifulest woman I know- she's always smiling :D and people like that always help in a worriers life :D

So... if you are prone to manic moments... don't worry..you can make it through them and come out on top! Just keep amazing happy relaxed people around you, make a quick call to your mum, and say a little prayer in your head!! The perfect cure!!

I shall sleep peacefully tonight- as long as Pippin doesn't fidget as much as he did last night *sighs and shakes head*.. I'll tell you about his fidget bottom antics another day... Sweet, unworried dreams to all!! :) xx
